Immigration lawyer Andy J. Semotiuk predicted that changes to the Regional Center program will change investment requirements; therefore causing a significant uptick in EB-5 visa applications as people seek to make their investments before the amount increases.
Current investment amounts are $500,000 for a Targeted Employment Area (TEA) investment and $1,000,000 for a non-TEA investment. Back in 2017, when the changes were originally proposed, it recommended that the investment amounts should increase to $1.35 million for a TEA project and $1.8 million for all other projects.
